Thumbstick ball joint slipping

I got a issue with that the thumbstick is slipping in the ball joint, it is not possible to tighten the screw any harder.
Does any one got a good suggestion to fix this?

Check on whether the clamp isn't broken.
Could be stripped ball or joint as well, did you move the towers whilst the screws were tightened?
