In sore need of a D-Pad instead of a thumbstick

I've been coveting the Azeron for a while now and have been waiting for a D-Pad version. I have been using the Belkin Nostromo and all its newer iterations since before it was acquired by Razer, and now of course have the Razor versions. I've tried many similar products but ultimately what makes me keep coming back to the Nostromo (Tartarus) is that D-Pad that other brands such as Logitech don't use.

Thumbstick lack the movement precision, such as for strafing, that a D-Pad offers in first person shooters. Please offer this option, even if it's an accessory that we can install. I am willing to pay extra.

I really want to buy the Azeron Cyborg but the thumbstick is a deal breaker for me.

This might not work for you, but if you look on the pictures of the Cyborg above the joystick there's a small toggle switch. That is functionally a five key d-pad, with four directions and a center press option that can all be programmed in. It's not flat, but with your thumb resting directly on top of it I can use it the same way. There's one on the Cyro too, and I'd assume the other versions but I haven't looked at them as closely.

Hi,

That's a great observation! The toggle switch on the Cyborg indeed functions like a mini d-pad with programmable directions and a center press. It’s a handy feature for customization and can be quite useful for different gaming needs. Thanks for pointing that out!

Jack ;)

Necro'd this, sorry lol.

For as much as I love my cyborg compact, the others here are wrong, that stick above the main thumbstick is just that - a smaller thumbstick, with limited directional inputs.. it is *not* a dpad in the classic console definition of what a dpad is, and OP should not get a cyborg banking on it being one, as they will be let down if they do.

I, too, have used different models of nostromo (n50, n52, n52te) for as long as I've been gaming on pc, and it's been the dpad on it that's contributed most to my longevity using them. Tried g13, the thumbstick was small and terrible, and even after swapping out the cap with another logitech controller, the angle was still off enough to break your thumb during extended use. Tried tartarus, the 4 directions on the dpad were separated and clicked like mouse buttons and was horrible for movement. If the cyborg offered a console-like dpad in place of the thumbstick, I'd hop on it in a second.

All of the above said, I still think the cyborg is a really, really good device, and it's quickly become my nostromo's replacement. I use the xbox elite v2 thumbstick, and with the shortest cap I could find and a restrictor ring to limit movement, With that combo, it didn't take me that long to adapt to it, honestly. Coming from nostromo, too, I can absolutely recommend the cyborg for all the things it gets right.

Welp, this came off sounding like an ad, and I'm terribly sorry lol...
