Cant get the pad to work

Recived it yesterday and i have not been able to bind the keys yet, it does not load in the features in the software. Been trying to enter developer mode to do the patch thing i saw when i googled the problem. I dont think mine even have that button, i opened it and found a plastic cap that wouldnt budge, i had to use some force to pop it out but i dont see any button or it leading to a button so im not sure if its missing or if its me looking at the wrong place completely.
