I recently purchased the Cyborg 2 and this item is the only part of the controller I find disappointing. It actually feels really great, to the point that I would love to use it as an 8-way dpad. However, it only actuates in the 4 cardinal directions; doing it in one of the midway directions doesn't actuate both associated cardinals. If a future version could use the same-feeling stick but with 8 directional inputs, or the corners activating both cardinal directions, it would be perfect.

Check the thumbstick / advanced settings and disavle the unique diagonal binds, thenthe midway directions will activate
Hey, there is either a misunderstanding here or I'm missing something. The 5-way thumb switch (*not* the thumbstick) doesn't seem to enable 8 diagonal settings when that setting is changed. That looks like it's for the thumbstick only.

My apologies, the 5way switch indeed only does 4 directions.
5way switch is capable of doing the 8 directions, but the feature has been removed, since the lifespan of the switches is shorter than the button switches.
It would require a software downgrade.
We plan to stick with 5way only capable of 5ways for the near future
