My 5-way switch stopped working properly and my Cyborg Compact was out of warranty (purchased May 2023). With help from Azeron Support, I've just replaced the switch myself and wanted to describe the fix in case anybody else finds it useful.

Issue Description: Down (#30) on the 5-way switch lost its tactile feedback and would often stick.

Skills / Equipment Required:
  • Rudimentary soldering experience - if you've soldered any THT components to a PCB, you'll be fine
  • Soldering iron + solder
  • 5-way switch, part number SKQUCAA010
    • I got a 5-pack from AliExpress shipped to the US for about $7.50
  • Desoldering gun or desoldering pump
    • I used a pump, so the process below assumes that
  • 1.5mm hex wrench
  • Phillips head screwdrive
Process:
  1. Extract the PCB for the Analog Stick and 5-Way Button
    1. Remove the caps for the Analog Stick and 5-Way Button
    2. Remove the bolt holding the Analog Stick and 5-Way Button assembly to the controller and pop out the assembly
    3. Remove the 2 bolts from the back of the Analog Stick and 5-Way Button assembly and remove the back plate
    4. Remove the 2 screws and release the PCB
  2. Desolder the 5-way switch from the PCB
    • If the solder doesn't just come up in the pump, add a little of your own solder
  3. Solder the new 5-way switch to the PCB
    • Do your best to make sure the switch is flush with the PCB
  4. Plug in your device and test the new 5-Way Switch
  5. Reassemble the Analog Stick and 5-Way Button assembly
  6. Reattach the caps
  7. Test the 5-Way Button again
    • I didn't solder the switch quite flat to the PCB, so I had to give the cap a few passes on a file to make sure all the directions worked
If you've soldered anything before, this is an easy little project. I'm just ok at soldering and it took me about 30m.

I hope this is helpful!
