rewasd "Hook controller buttons"

Hi, in a video for configuring rewasd, I saw, that I have to disable "Hook controller buttons".
Does anyone know why?

If it`s enabled, then you are able to configure buttons as you press them. Once it`s disabled, pressing the button on Azeron won't let you change it and accidentaly mess it.
So once you have done the configuration, disable the hook controller buttons or you can use read only mode after config.
