While a vertical style mouse is pretty cool I find it a bit tricky to aim with so I'm trying to think of a way to adjust some of the parts to be horizontal. I'm currently thinking of just getting and bending some thin metal brackets and screwing them onto the base plate with the hand rest and keys attached to them instead.
