Hello everyone,
I’ve used my Azeron Cyborg 2 with Xim Matrix for three months without issues. All buttons and axes worked fine until yesterday. Now the thumbstick always reads as pushed forward. I can move it slightly left or right, but it instantly snaps back to “forward.” In this state, it’s unusable. Calibration in the software does nothing.
Setup details
  • Device: Azeron Cyborg 2
  • Software: Xim Matrix
  • Connection: Powered USB hub (always on)
  • Power cycle: Last night I shut down my PC, which also cut power to the hub and the Azeron device
Problem timeline
  1. May 31, 2025: Everything worked normally.
  2. June 1, 2025: I powered on the PC and hub. The thumbstick now reads as permanently forward.
  3. I did not drop the device, open it, or apply any force. No firmware update occurred. The only change was cutting power to the hub.
What I’ve tried
  • Recalibrating the thumbstick in the Azeron software (no effect).
  • Testing other buttons and axes (all work as expected).
  • Disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable.
  • Changing usb cable
  • Software update
  • Reset

Possible cause

  • The hub and Azeron were completely unpowered after shutting down. I wonder if that sudden power loss caused an internal fault.

Questions

  1. Has anyone seen a Cyborg 2 thumbstick lock in one direction after a normal shutdown?
  2. Could a power cut on the hub cause this behavior?
  3. What troubleshooting steps restored proper thumbstick function?
Any advice or insight is welcome. Thanks in advance.

1. Have seen such cases.
2. It`s possible, but not necessarily.
3. You can try re-sitting the wires for the x and y axis in the board. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...3QIbucUIO4/edit?gid=1033477889#gid=1033477889
Locate the pin, unscrew it, remove the wire, re-insert it making sure no insulation cable is caught, just bare wire and then re-tighten the pin.
