Depending on the game and how you'd like to configure your Azeron devices, sometimes being limited to only one device running an Azeron Software profile, while the other must run an on-board HW profile, isn't a big deal.
But, given the limitations of HW profiles (e.g. no macros or layering), at other times this stricture blocks the user's ability to realize their ideal controller configuration for a given game. Which is a shame since the level of configuration Azeron offers in its products is otherwise so powerful.
Ideally, we'd be able to run two devices form software, e.g. by running two instances of Azeron Software, though of course there are other ways to do it in a single instance.
