Greetings. I know some people will not need this modification, but my fingers are very weak and I keep pressing buttons by accident. I need a finger rest because Omron switches are extremely sensitive to touch and activate all the time. I looked for a support point and found that the pull back keys were the best choice, since my hand naturally grips the Azeron in that area.
I went to an upholstery shop and looked for a material that was not completely rigid yet did not collapse too easily when pressed. I found automotive vinyl used to cover car seats, 2 millimeters thick.
I cut strips measuring 4.72 x 10 millimeters. I applied very thin double sided 3M 467MP adhesive tape to each strip.
I then stuck each piece under the button flange, practically touching the underside of the key.
I repeated the process on the other three buttons. Now I can rest my finger on those keys without triggering them, so my fingers no longer have to hover in the air to avoid accidental presses and they get less tired. You do need to apply a little more force to press the key, but the improvement is worth it.
Suggestion for the manufacturer: it would be great to add a small spring under that key so our fingers can rest on something solid. Several trials would be needed to find a spring strong enough to support the weight of the finger yet soft enough to yield when force is applied, allowing the key to register. This could be done on all keys of this type. In my case, adding this support to the pull back keys alone already provides a better grip on the Azeron and reduces fatigue.
