elite thumbstick loosening itself

Shortly after receiving my Azeron, I noticed the Elite thumbstick would occasionally get stuck instead of recentering. I found that tightening it clockwise fixes the issue temporarily, but it seems to unscrew itself every few days during normal gaming sessions.
This has become a recurring problem that affects my gameplay. Is there a way to permanently secure the thumbstick so it stops loosening under pressure?

tighten it, and then give it another 2mm to secure it

I’ve tightened it multiple times already (by turning the cap clockwise, I'm not talking about the tension screw under the cap), but it keeps coming loose. What do you mean by 'giving it another 2mm'? I’m currently tightening it as far as it feels safe to go (until it stops turning), and I'm worried that applying more force will snap the thumbstick assembly. Is there a specific trick to locking it without breaking the plastic?

It could be a bad threading, have seen it happening for some users.
pop the little joystick ring off, which is preventing for the joystick basecap to be removed and unscrew the cap and remove it.
Visually inspect and see if there is a thread on the joystick stem
