The azeron cyborg i have used for months has with todays update started causing the game to stutter. Its definately the controller or settings related to the controller because when i unplug it the problem goes away, plug it back in in and problem is back. I've tried all the settings in game and out to alleviate the problem but im out of my wheel house here.

Getting the exact same issue.
Micro stutter every 3 seconds on the dot. Goes away if unplugged.

- Does it regardless of graphics settings
- Did a clean reinstall of the game
- Reinstall nvidia graphics studio or game ready ( did both )
- Vsync on/off
- Frame limiting
- Prerendered frames
- DLSS on/off
- Plugging Controller into a dedicated usbC port
- Unplugging keyboard to leave only azeron plugged

Tried pretty much everything i could think of short of a full windows reinstall.

This as far as i'm aware only affects ff14. i have no issues in destiny 2 or other games i've tested.

I have tested Divinity original sin 2 enhanced edition which is another DX11 game under the hypothesis that DX would be part of the problem and i cannot replicate the issue.

Any help would be appreciated, i really can't play without my cyborg anymore :(

For me - it was REWASD scanning for the FFXIV exe.

I went to the profile and removed FFXIV from the "associated app" portion and the stutter went away. I have to manually assign the profile in REWASD, but there is no more stutter.

Well, I think i solved my issue..

Decided to try my wife's azeron on my computer.

Being lazy, I didn't wanna unplug the whole thing from the computer ( USB-A end ). So I unplugged the mini usb instead.
Plugged in hers .. and no issue. then swapped back to mine ... no issue.

As for WHY unplugging the mini usb wouldve solved the problem ? NO IDEA.. well some idead .. maby a dust spec introduced a little resistance in the datalines or something which would affect how the device polling would send interupts to the cpu while ff14 is running or something.

Lesson learned be lazy and solve your issues by sheer luck.

Interesting additional information.

My hypothesis has shifted from hardware specifically to software. Maybe something to do with board revision on my cyborg.

Point is, this morning the problem was back. Knowing HOW to fix it ( at least temporarily) helped quite a bit.

Unplugging/replugging from the mini usb did not help. Which means its the fact that another azeron ( my wifes ) was plugged in and unplugged solved the issue and not the act of replugging.

And so i plugged in my Cyro (kinda disapointing device btw the mouse buttons will ghost unclick and its basically unusable as a mouse but that's a story for another day ). And with the cyro plugged in at the same time as my cyborg, No issue. Unplug cyro problem is back.

I'm not good enough to figure out what the root cause is. But for now, if I leave my cyro plugged instead of in a drawer collecting dust, it works.

Change the stick to wasd, see if it`s same.
Does the issue occur on onboard profile with azeron software closed as well ?
Try creating a new profile, see if it wasn't caused by a bad profile.
If still getting issues, generate a log file and attach here

Hello,

I recently purchased the Azeron off of Amazon and got it set up, but It is causing microstutters in my frames when playing FFXIV, the issue resolves if I unplug the device.

Is the profile linking active or does the issue occur with the software closed as well?
FFXIV is tricky, it doesn't like any other controllers connected

It occurs with the software on or off. I am not sure what profile linking is, this thing is more or less right out of the box. Only settings I've changed in the software after installing it is calibration on the joystick and I removed all the bindings on the profile, as I wanted to set things up from scratch. When I was getting a feel for the movement in game with the joystick was when I started to notice the frame issues.

These issues vanish if I unplug it even without restarting FFXIV, and appear just the same if I plug the device in either before launch or after.

Would it be easier to attach logs? What all information is in the logs if I were to post them here? or could they be made private?

You can attach logs here or email us on info@azeron.eu (include link for the forum thread) or pm them to me.

What you can do is disable the Consumer control device compliant with User Interface Devices in Device manager / Azeron.
See if the fps drops stop

I am having the same issue. I have two Cyborg Compact. The one I bought last year was completely fine, but when I switch to the new one I bought earlier this year, the game immediately starts stuttering every 3 seconds. Both keypads have the same latest firmware and the same profiles. This happens with and without the software opened.

I have the logs attached for both my old Cyborg Compact (from 2023, file name ends with "old") and my new Cyborg Compact (from 2024, file name ends with "new"). The issue only happens with the new Cyborg Compact connected (so the log file that ends with "new").

Connect the new one and bring up the joy.cpl menu and attach the screenshot.

Here is the screenshot of the joy.cpl control panel menu using the new one. I don't see any difference between the new and the old one.

I have tried disabling all "HID-compliant consumer control device" in my device manager, but the game still stutters when my new keypad is connected. The stutter would disappear as soon as I disconnect my new keypad.

Change view to view by container and disable the Azeron one.

EDIT: Decided to disable the "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" under Azeron container, it required a reboot. When it came back up and the game launched. Issue is gone. Definitely seems like some kind of polling issue with how the driver is emulating an Xbox 360 controller and polling frequency.

I just assumed this was user error but this is definitely happening here as well. The comment above about "Azeron Keypad" and disabling the "HID-compliant consumer control device" makes no change.

There must be some common factor to those that are having this problem.

14900k
64GB
RTX 4090
Win 11 23H2

Since it's happening every few seconds it seems like some kind of polling issue.

Is it Cyborg 2 and the performance firmware ?

This method works perfectly. Thank you!

I went back to my old Cyborg and forgot about the issue, but now I can finally have a proper backup device should my old Cyborg stops working ;)
