No option in the software to change a single axis.
I believe some games allow independent change and there are various windows workarounds if you google it
Tried a different cable ?
Tr wiggling the cable to see if it causes the disconnect.
Happens with software open and closed ?
Do you hear the usb notification on disconnection?
Tried plugging in different ports?
It might be a disconnected wire inside the thumbstick module, if it is, then it can only be corrected with soldering.

It was always left as a low priority, since there is a workaround.
Software was remade some time ago, so it`s easier to add newer features to it, which is a big step towards the AZERTY as well
Not a way to just copy over.
You`d need to make a macro with every key being pushed down and up for it to type it.
Caps down / up
Y down / up
Slash down / up
and so on
Right click on the button to unbind it, then rebind with the single press and test.
If issue persists, export the log file from software / settings / troubleshooting and attach here.

Unplug your usb first, then open up the palmrest by unscrewing the 3 deep recessed screws underneath the Azeron, then lift the palmrest off your keypad. Inspect the wires if everything seems connected. Check for your non-functioning key in this circuit diagram...
Set the movement to 5way switch and test it to confirm the disconnect is caused by joystick movement.
I would pressume it also happens in other thumbstick modes?
